@ CA

Obstinate? This letter as the Superior General of the US SSPX has noted is standard form of communication to the Superior General of the Order. To read into it a schism is on your part rumor mongering. If this is all you have you are not a serious thinker. Your senstationalism knows no bounds. Pitiful but not surprising coming from you.

SSPX fail to read the V2 documents in the light of the sensus fidei, if they did they would see that they have a far more restrictive interpretation than they suggest they do. We have not been bound by any of the excesses of V2.
The real problem has been that SSPX made some reasonable points about modernism but then veered off into schism by confusing the message with the medium.
I doubt + Bishop Fellay will carry the refuseniks in SSPX with him but all the signs are that his patience with them is near breaking point.

CONFUSED CDF MEETS TODAY
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican (CDF) which meets today is expected to ignore important issues.

1. The CDF meeting today is not likely to consider that the SSPX position on ecumenism, Judaism and other religions is in agreement with Vatican Council II (AG 7).

2. Vatican Council II does not contradict the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus .Since invincible ignorance, a good conscience (LG 16) etc are not known exceptions to the dogma or AG 7.So there are no exceptions to the SSPX position on Judaism and other religions and ecumenism.

These are important points relative to the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) and indicates that there are no doctrinal differences between the Vatican Council II and the SSPX in spite of the propaganda to the contrary.

"those like you I have nothing to offer on this issue"

Its quite apparent if I have nothing to offer you have that much less as well except for your chuckling friends and secret sources.

This article was sent to me by a friend today: http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/commentandblogs/2012/05/14/the-sspx-is-apparently-about-to-go-into-schism-over-bishop-fellays-plans-to-return-within-the-walls-we-need-him-back-and-should-pray-that-his-opponents-fail/

While this is an assumption based on leaked letters, the fact remains. People are fearing a schism within the SSPX. And that in itself is nothing to chuckle about. However it may be harder not to chuckle that you are sticking to your guns with your position that there is no danger of schism in the SSPX.

Cardinal Koch needs to accept the traditional interpretation of Vatican Council II: the SSPX rejects the version of the Council of Christian Unity,Vatican

Vatican Council II like Cantate Domino, Council of Florence 1441 says heretics and schismatics need to convert for salvation (AG 7).

Cardinal Kurt Koch assumes that his interpretation of Vatican Council II is the only one and all of us should accept it.

When the SSPX says they reject Vatican Council II they mean they reject the Koch-liberal version. When they say that they affirm ecumenism and inter religious dialogue according to Tradition, they mean they affirm in reality the traditional intepretation of Vatican Council II.

There can be no known cases of Orthodox Christians or Protestants saved in imperfect communion, the seeds of the Word or a good conscience etc as the liberal version claims.

Since you wont reveal your sources you are asking us to accept your word. I dont doubt you believe what you are saying. Its just that I dont believe what you are saying.

Totally cool. Don't believe what I'm saying. That is your prerogative. I'm not asking "us" to accept anything. I made a comment publicly under an alias in a format that allows for opinion. I gave mine. I don't need you to share my opinion. And since I don't need this I'll let those that actually agree with me chuckle and agree. Those like you I have nothing to offer on this issue. Sorry.

@ CA I didnt say you were claiming the SSPX was in schism. Im very familiar with our previous rendezous. I was only responding to the belief that you are making that Bishop Fellay is somehow walking a tight rope here. You say you have these sources that feed you info. I will bite and say right now your sources are very very unrelaible. Unless you have access to someone at Econe or know someone who does you have no reliable info other than speculation.

"I wonder how much you actually get around" What? Really? This is what you resort to? Get around where?

How does the fact that you have SSPX friends mean anything? I attend an SSPX led Mass every Sunday and have plenty of friends at my SSPX chapel and the SSPX Church across town where the Angelus Magazine was first published (this should tell you where Im from).

Of the whopping 4 Bishops in the SSPX you may have at most a very weak case that Williamson would leave but even then it would be becasue he cant cant the SSPX to adopt his conspriacy theories about the Jews and the world. Thats it.

"Suffice to say, the issue of keeping all of the SSPX bishops together is a major issue within the SSPX whether you like it or not." Not its not and Im going to call you on it. Since you wont reveal your sources you are asking us to accept your word. I dont doubt you believe what you are saying. Its just that I dont believe what you are saying.
